Rukshana Ilahi, M.Ed. in EdL, MSW

Rukshana Ilahi currently serves as the Executive Director of Special Education for Comstock Park Public Schools where she coordinates and directs all programs for students qualified under IDEA for services within the district.

She started her 20+ year career in education as a school social worker and has served as a special education administrator for 14 years in both traditional public schools and charter schools–as the Executive Director of Special Education, Section 504, and Early Intervention at Grand Rapids Public Schools and, prior to that, as the Director of Special Education for National Heritage Academies. She also served as the Mental Wellness Consultant for Kent ISD supporting programs to promote wellness for both staff and students. Prior to working in education, she worked in mental health.

One of Rukshana's most noted attributes is her ability to listen and make people feel comfortable. Her passion is to push schools to support and educate the whole child, and she deeply believes that supporting the adults in our schools is a necessary step in fully supporting our students.
